Families Are Forever

On March 24, 2007 our family was sealed in the Mesa, Az Temple. I cant believe that 2 years have already past since that wonderful day. Since we were married civilly we had to wait at least a year to be sealed. It wasn't an easy road and many things got in the way, but we made it. It was wonderful to be sealed to my husband, but what made it extra special is that Karma got to be apart of it. I can remember clearly after me and Curbris were sealed they brought in Karma. Right when came in the room tears just streamed down my face she looked beautiful all dressed in white. She looked like an angel so pure and innocent there was a light that was all round her. I can honestly say that it was the best day of my life. To know that I have a forever family is an awesome feeling.

Another picture of the girls with grandpa and grandma.

This time we actually had time to take a tour of the conference center, it is huge and amazing. This is a picture of us in the garden area on top of the conference center, we are just missing Lance and Curbris.

On Monday we headed back to Fairview to spend the rest of our trip with Grandma and Grandpa. The main reason we went on this trip was to come visit grandma, she has had a tough year with cancer and the many infections she has been getting. This is a cute pic of the three girls and there great-grandma.

Another pic of the girls and great-grandma Linda.

This is all of the girls.

Utah Part 1

I am going to do two blogs on our Utah trip because I have a lot of pics. and also because my sister has a few pictures I want to post on her camera.
The last 4 days me and the girls got the chance to drive up to Utah with my parents and visit family. Curbris was unable to come because they wouldn't allow him the time off work. We arrived in Utah early Saturday morning. We stopped first in Fairview to visit my grandparents. We visited for a little bit and than me and the girls headed up to Provo to stay with my Jamie and Stephanie. We had a blast spending time with them and getting to know each other better. Karma kept on calling Jamie daddy and we were always correcting her. I really wish we could have spend more time with them, but we had a lot of family to visit.

This is the girls with Uncle Jamie and Aunt Stephanie, Sadie of course had to be difficult and didn't want to take a picture.

Karma loves her Uncle Jamie, she especially loved climbing all over him.

Karma also loves her Aunt Stephanie, she enjoyed wearing her necklace and getting into her make-up.

Jamie getting Sadie to smile. Sadie loved spending time with her aunt and uncle there were so many new thing for her to find and get into.

I think Sadie's shirt says it all and Sadie loves her too.

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take this picture, sorry Jamie it was just too cute. Thank you guys so much for letting us come and spend some time with you. Karma is still asking me where is Jamie and Stephanie.

We left Jamie and Stephanie's house on Sunday and went to my Aunt Brenda and Uncle Steve's house in Salt Lake. We visited with them for a while. My dad's aunt and uncle were in town so they came by and visited us. It was great to see them it has been a long time since I have seen them. We took some pictures, but my camera was dead so I don't have any of the pics. Monday morning we got up early and headed Temple Square. We first stopped at Museum of Church History and Art because they had a Child of God exhibit. The girls had a blast in the exhibit they had a lot of fun things to do.

Karma is in the nursery section feeding the baby.

Now she is checking the baby to make sure it is ok. She really enjoyed playing with the dolls.

Sadie liked that there was plenty of room for her to crawl around and lots of things she could climb on.

They had these really cool chairs and benches that were perfect for little kids.

After the museum we walked around Temple Square, we took a few pictures.

The temple looked so beautiful.

Here is my mom and dad in front of the conference center with their three little sunshine's.

Me and the girls taking a few pictures.

I will post Utah part 2 soon I just need to get the pictures from my sisters camera.

Karma's Body Art!!

Yesterday I getting ready to get the girls in a bath and than Curbris called me so I went in the bedroom to talk to him because it was quite. I talk to him for about 10 mins. and than I picked up a few things in the bedroom. I walked in the living room to find Karma with a pink marker coloring herself. At first I yelled, "Karma!", and she looked at me with a sorry look and all I could do was laugh. I am thankful she colored herself and not the walls it would have been a lot harder to clean up.

Homemade Oreos

So every year when one of my brothers has a birthday I ask them what they want me to bake them and they always request homemade oreos. Today is my brother Lance's birthday, so I am making homemade oreos. I found the recipe in The Essential Mormon Cookbook by Julie Badger Jensen, it is a simple recipe and one of the best I have found for homemade oreos. I usually double the cookie part because they disappear so fast, but you don't have to double the filling it makes a lot.
Here is the recipe:

Outstanding Oreo Cookies

1 box devil's food cake mix

3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

2 eggs

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup butter

2 tablespoons vanilla

2 cups powdered sugar

In a large bowl combine cake mix, the 3/4 cup butter and eggs. Chill about 10 minutes. Roll into small balls. Place on a greases baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 7 to 9 minutes. Cool.

To prepare filling, beat cream cheese, the 1/2 cup butter, and vanilla together. Add powdered sugar and mix together. Spread filling on top of cookie, and then top with another cookie. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
