Looking back.

The other day I was looking through our photo albums and thought I should post some pics on how much we have changed since we starting dating. Here are just a few pictures.

Three Years Down Forever Left To Go!

Yesterday was our three year anniversary, wow it is amazing how fast time flys by. For anniversary we didn't do anything special I had to work so we got to see each other for about an hour yesterday. We are planning on going out on Saturday. I still wanted to do something special for my wonderful husband so I got him a card and I made him one of his favorite foods, lasagna. This is Mumphy's recipe and every time I eat it, it reminds me of when I was little. It is by far my favorite lasagna recipe and the sauce is great because it can be used with any pasta dish. When I don't make lasagna with it I like to make rigatoni.
Lasagna
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup celery, diced
1 onion, chopped
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup ketcup
1 tsp. basil
1/2 cup chopped parsley
1 cup water
6 cups tomatoes (see notes)
1 tsp. sugar
salt (to taste)
3 cups cottage cheese
2 eggs
3 cups of Italian cheese (mozzarella and parmesan mixture)
12 lasagna noodles (I like the oven ready kind it save a lot of time)

1. Cook the garlic, onions, celery, and ground beef until the meat is cooked.
2. Stir in ketcup, basil, parsley, water, tomatoes, sugar, and salt.
3. Bring to a boil and than simmer until thick, about 30 mins.
4. Once the sauce is ready mix cottage cheese and eggs in a small bowl.
5. In a 9x13 inch dish layer the lasagna: Place 4 noodles, than cottage cheese
mixture, top with meat sauce and than sprinkle with a little cheese.
6. Repeat and make two more layers. Sprinkle the top with all the cheese that is left.
7. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Enjoy.

Notes: The 6 cups of tomatoes is about three 14.5 oz cans of tomatoes. I like to use two cans of whole tomatoes and 1 can on diced tomatoes, but u can use whatever u like. This time I added some carrots to the sauce and it tasted great.

I like to cook it a little more than 30 mins. to get the cheese a little brown on the edges.

A Fun Weekend.

We had a pretty fun weekend. Saturday we had two parties to go to, the first was a birthday party for D.J. he was turning two. The party started a 1 and it was at the park. When we first got there hardly anybody had arrived so me and Curbris played some basketball. By the time we got done playing the food was ready so than we ate hot dogs, hamburgers, and ribs. The girls were get restless so I took them to the park to play and while Curbris played more basketball with some of the guys that were there. After being at the park for a while I took the girls to the jumping balloon that they had set up. So my plan was to just let them both play inside the balloon and I was going to watch from outside. Well that did exactly work Karma would not going in unless I did and Sadie wanted to be held the whole time. So I got in the balloon and it was pretty fun. Karma didn't like it at first, but once see saw more kids jumping and having fun she joined in right away. Sadie didn't like it that much so me and her got out. Once Karma got done jumping I took her and Sadie to go see the ducks. Since we didn't have any bread to throw we went back to the park and played until it was time to cut the cake. We finally left the park at 5 and than we were off to party #2. Our second party was our ward adult dinner and we were pretty tired after the first party. We really just wanted to go home, but Curbris had to help serve at the party. They had a nursery for all the kids so we didn't have to worry about a babysitter. They party was pretty fun we ate than they had an hour of people in our ward showing off there talents. It was a pretty fun day and when we got home we were pretty tired.

Sunday was a pretty relaxing day we went to church and than over to my parents house for dinner.

I have a funny story to share that happened on Friday. Since I was over at my parents house I wanted to run to Albertson's because there is not one close by my house. They were having a good sale on a few items and with the coupons I had I could get the stuff really cheap. So I was planning on making the trip by myself, but Karma saw me getting ready to leave and ask me if she could go. I went ahead and took her because I knew what I was getting and I wouldn't be there to long. So when we got to the store I usually put her in the basket, but lately she thinks she is a big girl and needs to walk. I didn't feel like fighting her on this so I just let her walk. So we were where all the produce is and I was picking up a few things. Than we passed by the grapes and Karma loves grapes. They were on sale so I turned my back to grab a bag to put them in and when I turned back around Karma had a few grapes in her mouth. When I told her, "no Karma we don't eat the grapes until we pay for them". She looked at me, smiled, and said "uummm mom delicious!" "I love grapes!" That really made me laugh, how can u get mad at that.

Sadie is Standing!!!

So in the past week Sadie has started to stand a little by herself and has taken a few steps. Today she really surprised me. She would crawl a little than stop and stand straight up. It was really funny because she was doing squats to keep her balance. Than I was reading the newspaper, I looked up and she had taken about 6 steps before she fell. I tried to get to my camera before she fell but didn't get it in time. So all day I had my camera by my side hoping that she would take more steps, but she didn't. I did get a few pictures of her standing. Tomorrow she will be 16 months so hopefully before she turns 17 months she will be walking.

Mumphy and Pops

Today we went by and visited Mumphy and Pops(great-grandparents). Karma loves going over there because she gets to see the turtles and Tex, Pops horse. While we were there Karma got to ride in the golf cart and play at the park. Sadie slept for most of the time we were there, but when she woke up her and Karma got to ride in the wagon. The girls had a blast spending time with Mumphy and Pops and they did not want to leave.
Pops has two big turtles. This is the male, the female was inside its house.

Our Valentine's Day

Our Valentine's Day was pretty simple. Curbris had to work until 3, so when he got home he surprised me with yellow roses, a card, a new blender, and a food processor. I know that most girls love jewelry and chocolate, but I love kitchen gadgets. We had plans to go out and leave the girls with my parents, but we decided to just hang out at home. Curbris let me choose what we were going to eat, but than he got a craving for carne asada fries, so I let him get his fries. We went to Filiberto's and I got a carne asada burrito and he got the fries. We stopped a McDonald's and got the girls chicken nuggets and fries. When we got home we watched a movie and just spent time together.

We Love Music!!!!

Sadie liked hitting the sticks together.

Karma ringing her bells.

A lady in my ward does free music classes with toddlers and preschoolers at a retirement home. The classes are twice a month for 3 months. Last year we went and Karma had a blast, so when she invited us back again this year we said yes. The class is only an hour long and the kids get to interact with the grandmas and grandpas that live at the home. Karma has fun dancing and singing. Sadie doesnt really get into it that much, but she loves all the props that they get to play with. Another lady in my ward, Karen Martin also attends the class with her son Evan so we are able to catch a ride with her. After the class Karma and Evan's favorite thing to do is go outside and look at the big goldfish in the little pond they have at the retirement home.
